FAQ

How did you determine the price of the Billy?

We know $96 is a lot to ask for a chalk bag. We also know it is very low for a luxury leather good.

We have made every effort to maximize our production efficiency in the making of each Billy without sacrificing the quality of materials or construction.

Is Billy your main business?

No, our main business is an apparel company called Haberdash (www.haberdash.us).

Billy is a passion project that we work on in the gaps of our production schedule.

Do you ship international?

Yes, we'll ship your Billy anywhere in the world.

How much is shipping?

Shipping in the contiguous United States is free.

International shipping costs are determined by location at check out.

How quickly can I expect my Billy?

All bags are made pre-drop so orders can be shipped shortly after they are placed (from Richmond, VA).

How do you determine how many Billys are made per color?

We purchase a set number of hides from our supplier and selectively maximize the yield. We only use parts of the hide that are up to the standard we would want in a bag.

How do I store my Billy?

Ideally, on a fireplace mantel for all to see.

We do recommend if you're going to hang up your climbing gear for a season, to empty any chalk and use a damp rag to wipe the interior base lining. Let that dry fully if you plan to store your gear for a while.

Do you accept returns?

Please reach out to us if you have any concerns about your purchase. We are available at drops@thebilly.us to answer any questions so you can order with confidence. We are a very small operation so we can only accept returns on a case by case basis.

How can I be featured on your Instagram?

Tag us at @thebillyclimbs on IG but know that we are like kittens with mittens when it comes to social media. We promise we will get the hang of it one day.

Is the fur lining real fur?

No. However it is the softest, highest quality synthetic fur we could find.
